JAKARTA: PT Bumi Resources Minerals TBK (BRMS) is optimistic to operate Dairi mine in 2013 following the release of Presidential Decree No. 28 Year 2011 that allows the underground mining in the protected forest areas.The Presidential Decree that is ratified with certain conditions was released on May 19, 2011, followed by the Principal Agreement by the Ministry of Forestry (up to 2 years and extendable) and the Borrow and Use Permit by the Ministry of Forestry (up to 20 years and extendable).Bumi Resources President Director Kenneth Farrell said the released Presidential Decree is positive news to the companys zinc concession operated by its subsidiary, PT Dairi Prima Minerals.We remain optimistic to secure the Borrow and Use Permit to start underground mining in Dairi soon. This permit and the fulfillment of other conditions will help Dairi commence its first production by early 2013, said Farrell in public exposure, yesterday. (T06/NOM)
