JAKARTA: Former Minister of Transportation Jusman Syafii Djamal expressed his readiness to be the future president commissioner of PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk, replacing Tanri Abeng, if the extraordinary meeting of shareholders appoints him.He said that he would do his best if the government as the major shareholder of the Telkom promoted him to be the president commissioner.I am ready, if the meeting chooses me, he said when he attended the 25th anniversary of Bisnis Indonesia at Hotel Sahid last night.However, Jusman declined to comment when he was asked about the process of fit and proper test. He was named as the primary candidate to be the new president commissioner Telkom in the extraordinary meeting of shareholders, which will take place this week.Along with Jusman, Rudiantara and Johnny Swandi Sjam are also nominated to be the next president commissioner of the state-owned telecommunication company.Meanwhile, Tanri Abeng, whose mandate will soon end, decides to plunge into education sector by building a high educational institution, namely Tanri Abeng University.Apart from founding a university, Tanri Abeng will also focus to manage his logistic business. His company makes turnover around IDR1 trillion a year. (t04/wiw)
