SIA to increase flight frequency

JAKARTA: Singapore Airlines is planning to increase its flight frequency to countries in Southeast and North Asia, Indian subcontinent and other points during the northern winter operating season on October 30 2011 to March 24, 2012 due to high travel demand.As written on its official statement, SIA will add a daily flight to Bangkok from Singapore to five flights per day from four. It will also return it service between Singapore and Tokyo Haneda to twice daily from once. Flight Singapore-Osaka will also increase to 11 from 10 per week.Singapore-Guangzhou flight will double to 14 flights from seven per week.Flight between Singapore and Mumbai will increase to 17 flights per week from 14, while Ahmedabad flights will increase as well, to three per week from two.Flight between Singapore and Istanbul will increase to six times per week from four times per week yet it is still a subject to regulatory approval. Three of the services will flight to Athens.Flight to Cape Town via Johannesburg will increase to four weekly from three. (t05/msw)
