JAKARTA: PT Asuransi Parolamas booked IDR96.18 billion gross premium income in the first half of 2011 or increased 35.29% than the same period last year.The realization has covered 58.33% of the total targeted gross premium income at IDR168 billion.In detail, income from gross premium was contributed by property insurance by 40%, marine cargo by 30%, surety bond by 15% and others by 15%, Executive Director T. Yohas Raffli told Bisnis.Per June, gross premium from insurance was at IDR35.17 billion or increased 3.71% than the same period last year.Marine cargo increased 76.72% in the first six months to IDR15.74 billion. Surety bond increased 38.63% to IDR18.41 billion. Surety bond has met 52.6% from the initial target IDR35 billion. In 2010 income from surety bond was booked at IDR18.2 billion.Recently released vehicle and health insurance products also showed a significant growth.Vehicle insurance gross premium was at IDR9.86 billion while health insurance gross premium was at IDR9.9 billion.RetailBy releasing vehicle and health insurance products, Asuransi Parolamas eyes retail segment and is targeted to contribute 20% premium this year.All this time, Parolamas is focus in providing insurance for corporate segment particularly surety bond. The new products are viewed as potential as they are in line with communitys needs and also due to the saturated corporate insurance.Retail segment is a newborn line.The company will also focus in developing information technology system to meet market demand.
