JAKARTA: PT Bakrie Sumatera Plantations plans to refinance its bonds amounting to US$200 million, Kontan reported, citing Finance Director Harry M. Nadir.The company pocketed US$250 million bank loans from four banks, including national bank and foreign bank without giving further details.Refinancing will lower its interest cost from 10.75% per year to around 7%-10% per year. The remaining of the shares will be allocated to repay its existing bank loans.Bakrie Sumatera will seek shareholders approval for its refinancing plan.The company also plans to refinance its subsidiary, Domba Mas, debts, including the debt to Credit Suisse worth US$200 million. The maturity of this debt will be extended by 6.5 years to 2017. (msw)
