JAKARTA—The Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) said PT Pertamina will generate additional oil production in 2013.
The Head of SKK Migas Rudi Rubiandini says this year there will be an additional around 5,010 barrels of oil per day (bopd) from bridge KE-38B, KE-39, KE-40 and KE-54 in West Madura Offshore Block. Then the additional of 820 barrels from Pondok Makmur field.
Rudi says Pertamina production will keep the current domestic production of 830,000 bopd. It is expected that Pertamina’s production could be on stream on time because when it is disrupted, domestic oil production will not reach 830,000 bopd.
Currently, oil production in WMO block is around 6,350 bopd. Earlier this year, WMO production had touched 1,200 bopd due to bad weather that caused the production process impaired. However, now the production begins to rise.
SKK Migas Secretary Gde Pradnyana is optimistic that WMO production will improve in April 2013, which can reach up to 20,000 bopd. “At least it would touch 16,000 bopd and the average per year could reach 20,000 barrels oil per day,” said Gde.
According to Gde, PHE WMO as WMO block operator had continued to pursue production by increasing drilling using four rigs.
Supposedly, WMO peak oil production was in last August, however until now it have not been able to achieve because of delays and bad weather. WMO oil production this year will not reach 25,000 bopd. “WMO experienced the highest decrease, so WMO should add more oil production this year.” (11/t08/tw)
