JAKARTA: Indonesian shares dropped 0.06% or 2.36 points to 4,104.46 at the opening session triggered by profit taking action due to its success in breaching 4,100 level and the negative trend on other Asian bourses.At the early trading, Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) continued to drop. As of 09.42 local time, JCI declined 0.61% or 24.91 points to 4,081.92 . JCI was moving at the range of 4,078.74-4,104.46. About four shares fell for every one share up, whilst more than a half of the shares traded were unchanged. Finance and infrastructure, utility and transportation sector decreased the most.The declining of the index mostly contributed by PT Bank Central Asia Tbk which had minus 4.27 points, followed by PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk with minus 2.85 points, PT Astra International Tbk minus 2.36 points and PT Bank Danamon Tbk minus 1.46 points.PT Energi Mega Persada Tbk was one of several stocks that supported the index with 0.71 point gain. Other positive movements are made by shares of PT Indofood CBP Sukses Makmur Tbk 0.34 point, PT AKR Corporindo Tbk 0.99 point and PT Borneo Lumbung Energy & Metal Tbk 0.21 point.Indonesian stocks declined as investors realized their gains and boosted by the negative trend on Asian stocks as investors jittery on the falter of US debt ceiling talks, said Teuku Hendry Andrean, an analyst at Woori Korindo Securities.Meanwhile, Dow Jones Industrial Average decreased 0.34% to 12,681.16, S&P 500 Index increased 0.09% to 1,345.07 and Nasdaq Composite Index rose 0.86% to 2,858.83.From regional market, Nikkei 225 declined 0.63% to 10,068.63, Hang Seng in Hong Kong market dropped 0.67% to 22,290.21, Shanghai SE slipped 0.58% to 2,754.22, South Korean's Kospi decreased 0.69% to 2,156.34 and Straits Times in Singapore slipped 0.80% to 3,155.97.The MSCI Asia Pacific Index declined 0.74% to 3,155.97.The rupiah traded was unchanged against the US dollar at IDR8,524.
