JAKARTA: Production of local heavy equipment until mid of this year had reached 3,400 units or more than a half of 2011s production target by 6,000 units.The production runs well, while demand from plantation and mining companies keep also growing, General Chairman of Indonesian Big Equipment Industries Association (Hinabi) Pratjojo Dewo after attending a launching event of Komatsu HB205-1 Hybrid, yesterday.In addition, production of Komatsus plant in Cilincing also runs well and has reached a half of 2011s target by 2,500 units, as informed by President Director of PT Komatsu Indonesia Bambang Haryanto.Whole productions run well, there is no supply stagnation on imported components and products, he said.Even, today Komatsu is constructing a new component plant in Cibitung that is expected to escalate the Japanese manufacturers production capacity to 30%.We have spent US$10 million to US$15 million for the construction plan that will be operated in October or November this year, Bambang said.Pratjojo expects for government to accelerate the realization of import duty paid by government (BMDTP) program for dragging up heavy equipment manufacturers trust to improve their capacity.The program will have relation to two points, namely, Indonesias competitiveness has attracted new investment and production expenses should be decreased leading to higher fund for investment, he said.President Director of United Tractors Tbk (UT) Djoko Pranoto reported the sales of heavy equipment in Indonesia for the first half of 2011 had been more than 8,000 units. Out of total sales, 4,160 units were contributed by UT.UTs market share has stayed at 50%-52% in the first half. This year, the sales can reach to 16,000 units from 13,000 units last year, Djoko said.The company has targeted to sell 150 units of heavy equipment throughout 2011, as affirmed by Sales Director of UT Hendrik Hadiwinata.So far, we have delivered 5 units and have 14 units order for this month from Makassar, Jambi, and Manado, Hendrik said.
