MAKASSAR: PT Bosowa Duta Energasindo allocated IDR300 billion to build gas receiver terminal in Makassar with an installed capacity of 10,000 metric tons.Operational Director of PT Bosowa Duta Energasindo Iman Tugiman said to build the facility by preparing a 14 ha land in Kampung Lantebung, Kapasa Village, Tamlanrea District, Makassar, South Sulawesi."On July 16, we will conduct the first corner stone," he said after the meeting with South Sulawesi Governor Syahrul Yasin Limpo, yesterday.According to Iman, the company hopes that within 20 months from the first corner stone or in March 2013 the distribution of liquid petroleum gas (LPG) terminal is already able to operate and ready to serve the needs of LPG throughout Sulawesi, especially for small islands around the province.The distribution of LPG will also be targeting Kendari, Manado and Gorontalo. Bosowa Duta Energasindo will only build facilities for the storage of LPG.Meanwhile, Pertamina has an obligation to fulfill the gas supply. It was a mutual agreement between the parties which is contained in the contract."The operation model, we will continue to lease it [the facility] to Pertamina as its responsibility to distribute the gas. We only provide infrastructure in the form of gas terminal, "said Iman.According to Bosowa data, LPG demand in Sulawesi reached 700 metric tons per day, but that could only be met about 400-500 metric tons per day.With the operation of LPG terminal, thus the capacity will increase and it is expected there will be no obstacle distribution of LPG, especially in Makassar and generally in South Sulawesi.Bosowa Duta Energasindo Management expects to supply LPG between 400 and 1,000 metric tons per day to the community.South Sulawesi Governor Syahrul Yasin Limpo confirmed the fuel or energy is the basic needs of the community.Provincial Government is hoping the construction of liquefied petroleum gas terminal to be one of the breakthroughs in the effort of supplying LPG needs for the community.
