JAKARTA: PT Manulife Aset Manajemen Indonesia eyes a IDR1.5 trillion asset under management in the next two years following the publication of a new equity fund product for institution investors.The new product, Manulife Institutional Equity Fund, is different from other Manulife Aset Manajemen Indonesia (MAMI) products, President Director Legowo Kusumonegoro told Bisnis.To date, MAMI has published products such as Manulife Dana Saham and Phinisi Dana Saham with Deutsche Bank AG as the custodian bank while Manulife Saham Andalan appointed HSBC Bank as the custodian. The new product, published July 25, also entrusted Deutsche Bank AG as the custodian.The mutual fund will allocate minimum 80% for equity securities while the remaining for money market instrument. Preferred stock sector is not just one sector, but diverse.In 2011, the company targets to achieve 25% AUM growth to IDR32 trillion.Per April 2011, Manulifes asset under management (AUM) booked at IDR27.3 trillion of which IDR10 trillion was mutual fund and the remaining was discretionary fund.Manulife Financials Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer Warren A Thomson stated that investment in Indonesia is one of foreign investor targets amid the growing stock index that is currently at the highest level in Indonesia capital market history.Commodity and energyThe prospective capital market is supported by the bright commodity and energy sector, he continued.
