JAKARTA: Province of Riau needs IDR40 trillion to realize 12 infrastructure projects.One of the ambitious projects is the construction of 135 km Pekanbaru-Dumai toll road. The project needs IDR7 trillion-IDR8 trillion.We are currently making the blue print and negotiating with China investor. We hope the projects could be realized soon, Vice Governor Mambang Wit told Bisnis.The projects play an important part as they could support economic development in Pekanbaru and surrounding.Another 11 projects are railway, roadwork power plant and clean water constructions across the province.The fund will be taken from several sources such as Local Government Budget, assistance from State Budget and cooperation with private sector. All projects are expected to realize in the next 5 years.Contacted separately, Directorate General of Bina Marga Djoko Murjanto Djoko Murjanto stated the Pekanbaru-Dumai toll road project is currently under detailed engineering design process. When the process is completed, they will conduct an auction process.Based on Ministry of Public Works calculation, the project needs IDR8.44 trillion for construction and IDR474.56 billion for land acquisition. The toll road project is one of the projects that will be offered under a cooperation scheme between government and private. (t05/msw)
