JAKARTA: Indonesia listed retailer, PT Hero Supermarket Tbk expects its sale to exceed IDR8 trillion this year.The company plans to open new outlets, making its total outlet to 500 outlets across Indonesia.The establishment of the new outlets is part of modern markets expansion to any areas outside Jakarta, said Hero Human Resources Director Yudhi Komarudin.The two new outlets happen to be Giant outlet, located in Jababeka, Bekasi and Jonggol, Bogor, he said yesterday.However, Yudhi declined to detail out the exact investment figure prepared by Hero.Hero will continue to hold expansion in the future, said Hero Marketing Director Maria Suwarni. This year, Hero plans to construct 15 Giant Supermarket outlets and three Giant Hypermarket outlets. The retailer still search for strategic location to construct those outlets.As a matter of fact, the company is willing to open more Giant Supermarket and Giant Hypermarket outlets. Yet, at the moment, it is difficult to find strategic location and obtain the construction license, he said.Prior to this, Hero will establish three Giant outlets located in Jabodetabek with 5,000m2 width respectively.About fifteen 1,500m2-width Giant supermarket outlets will be constructed across Java.Besides constructing jumbo outlets, Hero will operate new smaller outlets such as Hero Supermaket, Guardian and Starmart.On the same occasion, President Commissioner of Hero Ipung Kurnia expects Kurnia familys shares ownership in the retailer to be maintained although Dairy Farm through its subsidiary, Mulgrave Corporation BV controls the majority shares of Hero.We expect to maintain the portion of our stock ownership. Until now, there has not been any plan to dispose stocks. One thing for sure, Dairy Farm controls significant portion of the share, he said.Based on the data of Indonesia Stock Exchange, as per 1 March 2011, stocks ownership of Mulgrave Corporate BV reaches 310.577 million shares or 94.28% of the total shares.Pension fund foundation tails as it owns 2.77% of shares or 9.11 million shares. The remaining stake holder is individual shareholder with 0.15% or 509.650.Ipung disclosed Heros net income to reach IDR55.5 billion in the first quarter of 2011, soared by 26.5% compared to the same period in the earlier year.Such profit jump was attributed by rising sale and cost efficiency. Hero sale was IDR1.96 trillion as per March 2011 or rose by 12.5% from 2010.Ipung further highlighted the tight competition amongst domestic retailer as it spurs Hero to change Indonesias modern market concept.
