BANDUNG: Garuda Indonesia eyed the increase of load factor as one business strategy of the company in this year.Senior Manager Japan, Korea & China Sales of Garuda Indonesia Dony Widojoko said that in the middle of this year the state-controlled airline has added flight frequency for Jakarta-Hong Kong route to be two time a day as a high demand from passengers.Since years ago the route [Jakarta-Hong Kong] was only one flight a day. However, in June we have to increase to be two flights a day as the high demand from passengers, he said in Bandung, last week.He said the load factor of the route now is standing within a range of 75%-80% supporting by two aircrafts, Airbus 330-200 and 737-800 Boeing.Donny said Garuda Indonesia in 2Q/2011 targets its load factor to grow 85%.According to him, businessmen are the main consumer of the route. Besides, the company also provides facilities for small market in Hong Kong, which are Hong Kong tourists who want to visit Indonesia, he said.Dony said Garuda Indonesia targets to operate 153 units of aircraft by 2015 as part of the companys business expansion.Now the company has operated 87 aircrafts, from Boeing 737-800 to Airbus 330-200/300.The additional fleets will be done continually to accommodate market demand which increasing from time to time, he said.Following the growth and asset modernization, Garuda Indonesia has bought two flight simulators for A300-200 and Boeing 737-800.
