JAKARTA: Indonesian stock advanced following its rebound yesterday helped by the rebound of blue-chip shares, including PT Astra International Tbk.
Jakarta Composite Index (JCI), which measures the overall performance of Indonesian shares, gained 0.002% or 0.09 point to 3,773.36 in the opening session this morning. At the early trading, JCI keep its track in the green zone.As of 09.42, JCI increased 0.73% or 27.61 points to 3,800.89. JCI moved within range 3,773.37-3,801.71. About ten shares rose for every one share that fell and more than a half of the shares traded in JCI were unchanged.The increase in JCI was led by PT Astra International Tbk which contributed 2.13 points to the index, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk 1.43 points, PT Gudang Garam Tbk 1.01 points and PT Adaro Energy Tbk 0.94 point.Shares that hampered the movement of JCI were PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk with -1.18 points, PT Berau Coal Tbk -0.41 point and PT Bank Bukopin Tbk with -0.18 point.Bisnis-27 Index gained 1% or 3.24 points to 327.47 as of 09.42 a.m. local time. The stock benchmark covering 27 stocks and launched by business daily newspaper dubbed Bisnis Indonesia was moving within range 324.25-327.69.Meanwhile, United States Stocks gained after a report showed U.S. retail sales were better than forecast.Dow Jones Industrial Average increased 1.03% to 12,076.11, Nasdaq rose 1.48% to 2,678.72 and S&P 500 Index gained 1.26% to 1,287.87.The regional markets posted mix movement. Nikkei rose 0.14% to 9,561.30, Hang Seng declined 0.16% to 22,460.26, Shanghai SE decreased 0.18% to 2,725.53, Kospi declined 0.20% to 2,072.60 and Straits Times increased 0.18% to 3,062.89.The MSCI Asia Pacific Index declined 0.31% to 877.53.The rupiah remained unchanged against the US dollar at IDR8,534.
