JAKARTA: PT Linde Indonesia, a gas company under The Linde Group, will build an air separation plant in Cilegon, Banten to supply the needed oxygen to PT Krakatau Posco as much as 1,680 ton daily starting in October 2013.The 88-million-euro (IDR1 trillion) worth plant is claimed as the biggest air separation plant in Indonesia and is expected to produce oxygen up to 2,000 ton daily, according to Executive Director Linde Group Sanjiv Lamba.We expect the plant will start operating in October 2013 and will supply oxygen as much as 1,680 ton daily to Krakatau Posco for long term, he told Bisnis last weekend.Sanjiv said that Linde Indonesia won the contract of oxygen supply worth as much as 100 million to Krakatau Posco, a joint venture between Pohang Steel and Iron Corporation (South Korea) and PT Krakatau Steel.The new factory belonging to Krakatau Posco is the first integrated steel factory in Southeast Asia, which will start operating in 2013. Sanjiv added that the gas supply would support the improvement of Indonesian industry, considering that steel industry has been the key of all industries.Besides oxygen, Lindes plant produce liquefied gases to meet demands from gas industry in West Java.Our decision to invest and build the biggest air separation plant in Indonesia is Lindes biggest investment in the country.
