JAKARTA: Five automotive principals expect to disburse IDR10.9 trillion funds to build plant and increase vehicle and component production capacity.Such plan is indicated in the company investment plan report submitted to the Ministry of Industry.Director General of High Technology-Based Superior Industries of Ministry of Industry Budi Darmadi said the five principals are Daihatsu, Toyota, BMW, Suzuki and Nissan.The entire investment plan is fixed since most of them have already prepare the details and ready to lease heavy equipment to start its realization this year, he told Bisnis when contacted, today.The investment will be conducted to increase production capacity, adding new model and expand engine and component plant.Such investment will be realized gradually. He estimates the constructing of new plant will complete in 1-2 years so that several principals can operate their new plant by the end of next year.However, we need to remember that investment is not always in form of physical facility such as plant since each principal will produce new model, which also needs to invest on its tools and supporting infrastructure, he said.
