JAKARTA: PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk booked a profit rise by 57.18% to IDR6.79 trillion in the first half of this year compared to IDR4.32 trillion a year earlier.The company's financial statement released today confirmed the rise in profit, which was the highest among national banks, wiwth the support from the soaring interest revenue of IDR23.1 trillion from previously IDR19.06 trillion.The increased interest expense that was not as high as revenue from IDR5.35 trillion to IDR6.47 trillion had led to a 23.3% jump in net interest income to IDR16.93 trillion.Meanwhile, non interest revenue rose to IDR2.6 trillion from IDR1.8 trillion and operating expenses also climbed to IDR9.08 trillion from IDR8.1 trillion.Such interest income was able to cover all costs, booking IDR7.85 trillion in operating profit from previously IDR5.57 trillion.On the other hand, its credit grew less than the industry's average rate at 18.35% or IDR41.51 trillion to IDR267.75 trillion from previously IDR226.24 trillion. The companys third party fund rose to IDR297.07 trillion from IDR256.05 trillion.Such higher credit growth led the loan-to-deposit ratio climbed by 90.22% from 88.36%.
