JAKARTA: PT Wintermar, a subsidiary of PT Wintermar Offshore Marine Tbk, prepares three new tug boats to execute a US$18 million contract it signed with PT Kaltim Prima Coal.The company in fact has secured a letter of intent from PT Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC) for the 5-year contract to prepare three tug boats of Azimuth Stern Drive (ASD) type. The company will start executing the contract in the fourth quarter of the year.The company has prepared pilot boats of ASD type with high capability for such maneuver to assist a dry bulk vessel, Managing Director of PT Wintermar Offshore Marine Tbk said.Dry bulk vessels of 220,000 dead weigh tonnage (DWT) will get assistance for getting anchored and releasing its anchor. PT Wintermar has been operating ASD-type tug boats to serve a number of oil companies in Indonesia since 2000. KPC is a Sangata, East Kalimantan-based coal miner which started its first operation in 1992. (NOM)
