JAKARTA: PT Hero Supermarket Tbk pocketed IDR107.65 billion net profit in the first half of 2011 or 38.74% bigger than IDR77.59 billion on the same period last year.Operating profit rose 27.29% to IDR153.93 billion from IDR120.92 billion, Director Lai Saye Chuan told Bisnis.According to Director Yudhi Komarudin, revenue also increased 13.27% to IDR4.08 trillion from IDR3.58 trillion in the first half of 2010. The company is targeting to reach more than IDR8 trillion sales this year.The retailer will open another 15 new Giant Supermarket and 3 Giant Hypermarket stores this year. Stores are expected to reach 500 at the end of the month.Another retailer, PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk booked IDR64.44 billion net profit or 91.19% in the first six months from IDR33.7 billion on the same period last year.Earnings per share rose to IDR18.78 from IDR9.82 per share. The gain was supported by stores expansion that is targeted to open 800 stores this year.Stores expansion in December 2010 to June 2011 is 413 stores including our franchise system with 60% ownership target and 40% franchise, Sumber Alfaria Finance Director Fernia Rosalie Kristanto said.The company is targeting IDR16 trillion revenue this year.
