DENPASAR: PT Pertamina together with PT PLN is planning to construct liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal at Pesanggaran gas power plant in Denpasar, Bali.The construction is to support efficiency and to decrease pollution in the area, Pertaminas Senior Vice President Nanang Untung told Bisnis.We need US$300 million, depends on the infrastructure requirement and future plan.The construction site was determined as Bali is counted vulnerable on power, let alone an international tourism destination.Besides Bali, similar constructions are also currently conducting in West Java, Sulawesi and Maluku. LNG can cut production costs as it is cheaper than diesel fuel. (t05/msw)
