JCI rises 9.77 points to 4,032.97 at closing session

JAKARTA: Indonesian shares reached new record after gain 0.24% or 9.77 points to 4,032.97 at the closing session as investors await earnings report for the first half. Net buy which booked by foreign investors also boosted the trading of Indonesian stocks

JAKARTA: Indonesian shares reached new record after gain 0.24% or 9.77 points to 4,032.97 at the closing session as investors await earnings report for the first half. Net buy which booked by foreign investors also boosted the trading of Indonesian stocks today.Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) moved within range of 4,021.81-4,042.73. About one share advanced for every one share that fell, whilst more a half of the shares remained unchanged.The increase in JCI was led by PT Astra International Tbk which contributed 10.40 points to the index, PT Adaro Energy Tbk 1.87 points, PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia Tbk 1.44 points and PT Bank Danamon Indonesia Tbk 0.97 point.Astra International rose 3.13% or IDR2,200 to IDR72,600 as Indonesias domestic sales in June jumped 14.90% to 70,157 units from 61,055 units in March.Shares that hampered the movement of JCI were PT Bank Central Asia Tbk with minus 4.28 points, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk minus 1.43 points, PT Bank Mandiri Tbk minus 1.35 points and PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk minus 1.18 points.Investor sees a better performance from listed companies in the first half due to a good fundamental economic in Indonesia, said Arief Fahruri, an analyst at PT Erdikha Elit Sekuritas.Foreign investors book an IDR308.17 billion in net buy today. Meanwhile, the value of trading reached 3.78 billion of shares worth IDR4.25 trilllion. Market capitalization of JCI was IDR3,627 trillion.From global market, Euro Stoxx 50 PR fell 1.14% to 2,644.93 and FTSE 100 Index declined 0.81% to 5,796.13.From regional market, Hang Seng dropped 0.32% to 21,804.75, Shanghai SE declined 0.12% to 2,816.69, Kospi decreased 0.69% to 2,130.48 and Straits Times decreased 0.05% to 3,082.70.The MSCI Asia Pacific Index declined 0.83% to 857.53.The rupiah traded decreased 0.18% against the US dollar at IDR8,559.
