BOGOR: The government will provide tax allowance for infrastructure investors following another 127 working field mentioned in the revised attachment of Presidential Decree No. 62/2008.The finalization of Presidential Decree No. 62/2008 on Income Tax Facilities for Capital Investment in Certain Business Sectors and/or Certain Regions is still under progress, Deputy Minister of Economy Erlangga Mantik told Bisnis.Before the decree is released, the government needs one more meeting to enter another 1-2 strategic business field proposed by sector builders.The tax allowance facility for infrastructure in Indonesian Standard Classification of Economic Activities (KBLI) is for the reason that it is in line with national development programs thus to interest investors to enter Master Plan for the Acceleration and Expansion of Indonesian Economic Development (MP3EI)s projects.The incentives proposal came from sector builders that are Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and Ministry of Forestry.Besides attachment, the substance will be revised as well. Number of articles that potentially stated in the revision is those related to flexibility of adding new business areas and the coverage period of validity.Through ministryInvestors that are wanted to invest at infrastructure sector may obtain other incentives such as financial support from the government; if they do not obtain tax allowance or tax holiday, Deputy of Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board Tamba P. Hutapea told Bisnis.Such support will be channeled through ministry or related institutions.To date, many investors have expressed their interest to invest in infrastructure sector yet they are still questioning the form of government support and guarantee for them.
