JAKARTA: A food producer PT Tiga Pilar Sejahtera Food Tbk plans to build 16 factories worth US$160 million within four years, Investor Daily reported, citing President Director Joko Mogoginta.The factories will be located in Java, South Sulawesi, and West Nusa Tenggara. The company targets to complete construction of seven factories by 2013, while the projects of the nine factories will start in 2012-2013.Currently, the company operates two plants, located in Cikampek and Cikarang, West Java, with capacity of 240,000 tons each.Tiga Pilar now is finishing its crude palm oil plant in South Kalimantan with capacity of 30 tons of fresh fruit bunch per hour. The factory, which is targeted to finish by the end of this year, costs IDR80 billion.The company spent IDR800 billion to buy crude palm oil plantation and a factory in Riau.A businessman Tan Pia Soe built Tiga Pilar in 1959. Mogoginta is his grandson. (NOM)
