JAKARTA: Indonesias export is projected to rise this year as the growth may exceed 12%. One of the factors causing this phenomenon is the improved economic condition, led by Asian countries, said Macro Economic Planning Director at the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas). This particular condition in fact boosts international trade as well. Global economic recovery and the leading Asian countries have fostered Indonesias export opportunities. As long as Asias economic actively stirs then export will face no barriers. We are optimistic that the Indonesia shall book double digit export, reaching 12% this year, he said yesterday.Bambang admitted that China still has the pivotal role in the global trade, thus it does make sense if Chinas import to Indonesia is relatively high. Yet, Indonesia may balance it by bolstering its non oil and gas export with its rich mineral resources.Export and import growth this year will be balanced. According to him, Indonesias import grows significantly merely due to the rapid domestic growth. Such rapid growth requires particular supplies from other countries.Based on the calculation of Bappenas and Bank Indonesia, the domestic current account and export and import volume will still be surplus in 2011 and 2012.Positive impactThe rise of various global commodities becomes the basis of the calculation. This phenomenon grants particular benefits for Indonesia somehow.Such commodity hike affects our solid export volume particularly in the mineral resources and the projection within government working plan in 2010. Non oil and gas export is expected to grow by 13% in 2012, Bambang added. In the 2012s working plan, government identifies several problems and barriers of international trade that must be resolved soon. Those barriers include the rising non-tariff barrier, escalating free trade block and low socialization of free trade agreement for the domestic policy makers. With regard to export, based on the data of Indonesias Central Bureau of Statistic, Indonesias export value was US$16.29 billion in March or soared by 13.03% compared to February. Such figure surged by 27.53% compared to the realization in the same period last year.In cumulative, Indonesias export was US$45.31 billion in January-March or soared by 27.51% compared to the first three months in 2010, said Rusman Heriawan Head of Central Bureau of Statistic.
