JCI gains 0.80% to 3,804.93 led by Astra International

JAKARTA: Indonesian stocks gained 30.06 points, or 0.80% to close at 3,804.93 this afternoon from 3,774.87 yesterday. Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) swung between 3,775.15 and 3,806.96. Of 423 stocks listed in the index 113 rose, 99 fell and 211 unchanged.

JAKARTA: Indonesian stocks gained 30.06 points, or 0.80% to close at 3,804.93 this afternoon from 3,774.87 yesterday. Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) swung between 3,775.15 and 3,806.96. Of 423 stocks listed in the index 113 rose, 99 fell and 211 unchanged. Astra International, which increased 5.26 points, became the main driver of the index. Other stocks posting positive move included Bank Mandiri with 4.10 points, Telekomunikasi Indonesia with 3.58 points, and Bank Rakyat Indonesia with 1.44 points. The stocks restraining the index including Bank Danamon, which plunged 1.48 points, followed by Bank Central Asia with 1.44 points, Duta Pertiwi with 0.66 point and Indofood Sukses with 0.52 point. Eight of nine industrial groups posted positive move. The largest contributor was infrastructure utility and transportation with 35.49%, followed by financial with 25.78%, miscellaneous with 15.32%, and mining with 8.34%. As JCI rose, BISNIS-27 Index also strengthened 2.44 points, or 1.04%, to close at 333.74 at 4 p.m. today from 330.31. BISNIS-27 Index moved within the range of 330.35 334.34. (t04/wiw)
