JAKARTA: PT Asuransi Jiwa Nusantara (AJN) eyeing 100% growth in premium income this year or reaching to IDR500 billion compared to its temporary position in 2010 at IDR240 billion.President Director of AJN Hero Samudra said its premium income over the past year has not experienced any growth compared to 2009 due to the company were conducting lots of internal consolidation.According to him, the premium income in 2010 is supported by group insurance business lines with a composition of 40% then followed by credit insurance 30%, and health insurance 30%.Related to the target growth achievement in 2011, AJN has planned a number of expansion includes the market expansion through the development of distribution channels, the addition of offices in various regions and also launching of new products."We are targeting a premium growth of more than 100% or IDR500 billion with various expansion plans this year," he said to Bisnis, yesterdayHero said the expansion plan for distribution channels would be conducted through the bancassurance (partnership with banks). Currently, he continued, AJN is exploring the possibility of partnership with 10 state-owned banks and private banks.A number of banks targeted to realize the bancassurance are Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN), Bank Bukopin, Bank Mutiara, Bank Mandiri, Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI), Bank Victoria, and Bank Mega.In addition, the distribution channels development will also conducted on the agency channel by starting the efforts to recruit 70 agents that are currently participating in the training season. The target, he said, 200 additional agents until the end of this year.During this time, the company tends to rely on internal marketing and bancassurance that has been made with Bank Pembangunan Daerah (BPD) in various regions."In 2011, we started to promote bancassurance and agency. With the development, the projected composition of premium income as much as 50% from internal marketing, 30%-35% from agency and the rest from bancassurance including with BPD," he explained.Hero revealed that AJNs market expansion plans will also be conducted by expanding its offices in various regions such as in the Eastern Indonesia including Papua, Sulawesi and Kalimantan, and also in the Western region of Indonesia such as Sumatra.Currently, the company also has already owned two new products that will be launched soon including Nusa Unggul dan Nusa Andalan that eyeing on individual segment.Nusa Unggul product is offered with a minimum single premium at IDR10 million for a minimum period of three years while Nusa Andalan product is offered with a minimum regular premium (annual) at IDR1 million per annum."The two new products will be launched this year. Meanwhile, the plan for market development in some regions in Indonesia is currently still under review," he said.AJNs income during 2010 is estimated to have reach IDR5 billion-IDR 7 billion or experienced a significant increase compared to the previous year that recorded losses amounting to IDR28 billion.Hero said that the income gains was triggered by a number of factors, i.e. in terms of cost efficiency that conducted in various fields, in terms of mortality and mobility, and also investment.Meanwhile, the investment returns during 2010 is estimated to have reach IDR5 billion-IDR7.5 billion with the placement of investments in a number of instruments includes deposits as much as 70%, mutual funds 20% and shares 10%."The condition of the company in 2010 is much better than 2009 with the income estimated at IDR5 billion-IDR7 billion. The good condition is also showed by the risk based capital [RBC] until the end of 2010 that is estimated to have reach 160%-170% and also the asset position that increased to IDR400 billion from IDR380 billion last year," he said.
