JAKARTA: Asian stocks were closed mixed this afternoon while pound sterling was hit on worries over UK economy.Korea's Kospi was flat after breaking its highest record in 38 months yesterday. Kospi added 25 points to close at 268.90 although Posco's shares, Korea's steel producer, weakened 1.2% on its plan to freeze the steel price, PT Monex Investindo Futures wrote in its market update.Hang Seng fell by 216 points to 22,894 on tight liquidity and rising Chinese's cost of fund to its highest in three years. The lagging mover was China Vanke which dropped 1.5% after Beijing ordered a halt to agreement on foreign property investment.From forex market, GBP/USD ran at 1.5382 from 1.5434 after Bank of England Paul Fisher's statement that UK economy may contract in 2011.
