JAKARTA: PT Hutama Karya (Persero) is eyeing three infrastructure sectors with the establishment of business units in 2011 to support the business performance of the state-owned construction company.Those three sectors the company targets and expects to develop are drinking water, power plant and toll road.President Director of Hutama Karya Subagyono said that the company is in talk with several local governments to calculate the demand and supply of each sector.He added that the company plans to build three business units next year to help execute the business strategy which will be more construction indsutry focus, a shift from the currently construction-service oriented.Hutama Karya now owns three subsidiaries that have already pokceted business permit. Those three units are electric pole producer, HAKA Pole, property company, HAKA Realtindo, and concrete producer, HAKA Aston.We are strengthening the business through development of construction business, both upstream and downstream, by building three other business units that will support the company's performance, he said on Wednesday.According to him, the company's strategy is expected to support the sales target of construction services in 2011, which is set at IDR4.8 trillion with IDR154 billion earnings, an increase of 29.2% from this year's estimated net income of IDR109 billion.Generally, the whole construction target it can absorb is around IDR9 trillion-IDR10 trillion following the recent contract agremeent worth IDR6 trillion, he informed.
