BNI to boost oil and gas credit disbursementJAKARTA: PT Bank Negara Indonesia Tbk (Persero) is targeting to boost credit disbursement for oil and gas industry in 2011 by 12%.Director of BNI Business Banking Krishna Suparto is optimistic they could achieve the target through the implementation of value chain strategy. Referring to IDR10 trillion loan disbursement for oil and gas industry as per September, the loan is predicted to grow to IDR11.2 trillion next year.With value chain strategy, such as from Medco or Pertamina to suppliers and to consumers, next year we believe to be able to grow by 12% from the current credit disbursement for oil and gas industry about Rp10 trillion, he said, today.In the top priority list, the bank, he added, will eye for contractors having smaller risk, big scale companies, listed or state-owned.Seeing the huge potential of the value chain strategy, BNI is working to increase lending to suppliers which so far have reached around IDR500 billion with 20 suppliers in total.Furthermore, he also informed that the state lender has additional legal lending limit (BMPK) by IDR2 trillion-IDR3 trillion following the recent rights issue. Before rights issue, it was IDR5 trillion which was achieved. (T05/NOM)
