JAKARTA: PT CIMB Securities Indonesia targets IDR2 trillion contracts as a bond and initial public offering (IPO) underwriter in 2011.President Director of CIMB Securities Bernard Thien said the broker targets at least IDR1 trillion for each underwriting action."We believe the stock and bond market conditions will still be as good as now. As long as the condition of capital markets and the global economy does not show any negative movements," he told the press today.However, he refused to reveal the target contracts and the acquired contracts in 2011 since they are still under discussion.Bernard said there will be lots of securities issuances next year as indicated in the company's projected growth of investment bank business to 30% in 2011.He said the company's other businessses such as the stock brokers and manager of mergers & acquisition (M&A) also has potency to grow with the same value.He said the brokerage business still has a potency to grow even larger if the stock market attracts new investors from currently 400,000 active customers.(T03/NOM)
