JAKARTA: Piaggio & C. Spa, an Italian motorcycle producer, will establish a subsidiary in Indonesia by next year.Director of Piaggio for Southeast Asia Constantino Sambuy confirmed that because of a high growth of Asian motorcycles sales, Indonesia becomes an interesting market.Being the worlds third largest motorcycles sales market, Indonesia is on the top list for business potential and opportunity, said Sambuy in Jakarta, today.Piaggio invests US$3 million to construct PT Piaggio Indonesia that will be operating on March 1, 2010, and will be responsible for supply chain of Piaggio products in Indonesia.Vietnam serves as Piaggio's production center for Southeast Asian market, including Indonesia. Now, it has capacity of 100,000 units a year which will be improved to 300,000 units a year by 2013.In the coming year, Piaggio sees cooperation with at least six regional distributors and 70 dealers in Indonesia.
