JAKARTA: The crude palm oil (CPO) sales of PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk rose 5.1% throughout the year until November to 1 million tons in the 11 months period of 2010 from 951,203 in the same period this year.
In the monthly statement of the listed Astra Group company today, most of the increase was contributed by domestic sales that rose 10.2% with total contribution larger than exports. The total domestic sales increased from 832,585 tons during the first 11 months of 2009 to 917,636 tons in the same period this year, which reaching to 91.8% of total sales.The large composition was able to offset the decline in the export sales of the AALI-coded shares company that dropped to 30.5% to 82,473 tons from 118,618 tons.On monthly basis, the CPO sales of Astra Agro were decreased 14.05% from 128,100 tons in October to 110,100 tons in November. However, the decline in sales was covered by the increase of selling price up to 7.97% from IDR7,287 per kg in October to IDR7,868 per kg in November.The CPO average selling prices during the first 11 months also increased to 10.1% from IDR6,254 per kg in the first 11 months of 2009 to IDR6,886 per kg in the same period this year. The selling price of kernel also increased 52.2% from IDR2,585 per kg to IDR3,935 in the same period.However, the increase of kernel price was not able to boost the sales of kernel that decreased by 2% in the first 11 months of 2010 as much as much as 134,725 tons compared with 137,483 tons in the same period last year.Astra Agro stocks price was closed down slightly 3.63% or IDR950 to IDR25.250 this evening with market capitalization amounted to IDR39.76 trillion.
