JAKARTA: Government will extend the operational and management contract for Suramadu toll road and bridge to PT Jasa Marga Tbk.The contract extension conducted until April 2010 at the latest before the result of new manager tender is determined where the tender is expected to be executed by the end of 2010.Minister of Public Works Minister Djoko Kirmanto said the contract extension will be conducted due to the tender hasnt been executed according to plan until this moment and his department hasnt received a report from the tender plan from the Toll Road Regulatory Body (BPJT)."We'll extend it because there is still no progress concerning the tender plan. In principle, the extension is conducted so that the project remains well managed and not abandoned," Djoko said this afternoon.Meanwhile, Jasa Margas contract for the bridge project that connects Madura and Surabaya with contract period for 18 months since July 2009 has expired in mid-December 2010.
