BANDUNG: Government of West Java Province plans to build a new airport in Citarate, Sukabumi District, West Java and targets to complete it in the next 15 years.Head of West Java Transportation Agency Dicky Saromi said the new airport construction plan is part of the roadmap to enhance transportation infrastructure in the southern part of West Java.In our long-term West Javas development agenda until 2025, we are planning to establish a new airport in Citarate. It is part of our strategic infrastructure development plan, he said today.He also informed that feasibility study on the airport construction plan was completed in 2005. They only need to wait for further confirmation on the development policy. However, he can not ensure when the new airport to be realized.The new airport will be a pioneer airport similar to Nusawiru Airport in Ciamis District that currently supports local agricultural and fishery economy.
